Charging and replacing electric piles is a key issue in the consumption of new energy vehicles. What are the current market conditions and policies? What is the future trend? Current situation: the charging and replacing pile industry ushers in new opportunities
On August 8, in front of a charging station on Guangyuan Expressway, Tianhe District, Guangzhou, Mr. Hu was charging his new energy vehicle. He said that at 1.4 yuan per minute (fast charging), a full charge of electricity is generally 70-80 yuan for about one hour. The reporter of Yangcheng Evening News found that there were about 50 fast charging posts in a charging station on Guangyuan Expressway, and about 30 charging posts were idle during non peak charging periods. However, when it comes to the night and the hot charging pile, you need to queue up. Many new energy owners reported on the forum that the charging piles near Zhujiang New Town and Huangpu Avenue are normal to queue for more than 10 minutes after 19:00, and they also park the charging piles (especially the slow charging piles) as parking spaces.
In fact, in addition to the charging mode, the new energy vehicles also have the power change mode to solve the power anxiety, which can make the car "full blooded" in less than 8 minutes. At present, enterprises with power replacement mode are mainly divided into three categories: the first category is BAIC, Weilai and other vehicle enterprises, the second category is Ningde Times and other power battery manufacturers, and the third category is third-party power replacement operators such as Sinopec, GCL Energy Technology and Aodong New Energy.
Taking Weilai Automobile as an example, in 2018, Weilai's first power station was completed in Shenzhen, Guangdong. As of July 28, 1037 replacement power stations (263 of which are highway replacement power stations) have been built in Weilai across the country, and the total number of charging piles has exceeded 10000, covering 269 cities. By 2025, more than 3000 replacement power stations will be arranged in China. The Zhongzhou replacement power station in Weilai visited by the reporter of Yangcheng Evening News is one of them.
Mr. Zhou bought the model of Weilai Automobile two years ago, which is the first car in his life. He said that although his car can be charged, he still chose to come to Zhongzhou Power Station in Haizhu District to change the power, because this is more efficient, and it can "fill up" in five minutes. In addition, he is the last batch of car owners to change their electricity for free for life. Compared with charging for money, of course, it is cost-effective to change the electricity for free. In the normal use process, the car can run about 500 kilometers after changing the power, and more than 400 kilometers on the highway, which is not far. However, Mr. Zhou said that the experience was also good. Every 200 kilometers on the highway, that is, every two hours or so of driving, people would need to go to the toilet and have a rest. It was just enough to charge the car to about 70% of the power during the rest time, and then they could run for another two hours. In addition, it costs 70 or 80 yuan for a non lifelong free power change. Compared with charging, it has a better power on experience.
Trend: Power exchange and high voltage fast charging become popular
Industry insiders said that the 10 minute fuel vehicle recharge time is an important standard to measure the charging speed of electric vehicles. High voltage fast charging can effectively solve the problem of electric vehicle mileage anxiety and fast charging, which has become a new trend in the evolution of energy supplement technology in the future. The corresponding 800V high voltage platform vehicles and high-voltage high-power overcharge network are in the accelerated layout stage. Weilai said that it would successively release new power supply facilities such as liquid cooled super fast charging piles with a peak power of 500kW and a peak current of 650A, and the third generation replacement power station, and open 800V high-voltage platform battery packs and supporting power exchange systems to the whole industry, with the purpose of making power supply more convenient than refueling.
According to the data released by the National Energy Administration in 2022, 1.3 million charging posts were added from January to June, 3.8 times that of the same period last year, and the aggregate charging capacity from January to June 2022 reached nearly 830 million kilowatt hours, about 8 times that of the same period in 2021. As reflected in the charging and changing pile market, the overall scale is rapidly increasing, and listed companies are overweight. Wind data shows that as of August 8, there are 35 listed companies in the A-share charging pile concept version, and 15 companies have released their performance reports for the first half of the year. According to the data, 10 companies are expected to increase by 30% to 374%.
Judging from the annual performance forecast of Eastex and Langxin Technology, Eastex expects to achieve a net profit of 236 million to 278 million yuan from shareholders of listed companies in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 10% to 30%, and continue to deepen high-end power equipment, charging pile facilities and operations and other related industries. The net profit of Langxin Technology is expected to be 183 million to 195 million yuan, an increase of 55% to 65% over the same period of the previous year. The company said that it will achieve the coverage of about 500000 charging piles by the end of the second quarter of 2022, which shows the overwhelming development trend in the field of power supply for new energy vehicles.
In terms of policy support, the previous 17 departments issued 12 measures, which mentioned that for the "difficult charging" problem of new energy vehicles, they should actively support the construction of charging facilities, accelerate the construction of charging facilities in residential communities, parking lots, gas stations, expressway service areas, passenger and freight transport hubs, and guide charging pile operators to appropriately reduce charging service fees. At the same time, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly released the "Fourteenth Five Year Plan" for the construction of national urban infrastructure, and put forward 21 implementation suggestions, including optimizing the layout of urban public charging network construction, speeding up the effective coverage of expressway fast charging network, and giving financial support to the construction of public facilities charging piles, to further guarantee the charging infrastructure system.
Guo, the boss of a charging station on Guangyuan Expressway, told Yangcheng Evening News that the investment in 50 charging piles was up to more than 15 million yuan. Surprisingly, the most expensive thing was not the construction of charging piles, but the cost of high-voltage electricity, which was often several million yuan, while the cost of electric piles was more than 100000 yuan. He said that he expected more policy subsidies in the future.
Advice: improve the convenience of parking charging facilities
Cui Dongshu, the secretary-general of the Passenger Transport Federation, said that the charging pile is a key issue in the consumption of new energy vehicles. To accelerate this work, the current difficulty is that it is difficult to enter the community, and the construction of charging facilities such as some parking lots, gas stations, expressway service areas and passenger and freight transport hubs is slow. So far, the vast majority of charging facilities are concentrated in urban areas, while the population of villages, towns and counties is relatively small.
The problem of parking and charging is one of the "anxieties and anxieties" of consumers in the use of new energy vehicles, and they face some outstanding problems. First, the development of public charging facilities is uneven. The public charging facilities in China are mainly concentrated in the central areas of the first tier cities, while the layout of the second and third tier cities, counties and townships, as well as the peripheral areas of cities, highways and other areas is insufficient. Secondly, charging facilities are difficult to make profits. Charging facilities belong to the category of "new infrastructure", which are characterized by high investment and operation costs, weak profitability, and long capital recovery cycle, and it is difficult to rely on market mechanisms for self-development. Finally, the operation and maintenance capacity of charging facilities is insufficient.
Cui Dongshu said that, in the future, first of all, we should improve the level of basic parking demand guarantee, and guide all regions to build parking facilities and charging piles in new residential communities in strict accordance with urban parking planning and residential community construction standards. Secondly, in combination with urban renewal actions such as the reconstruction of old urban communities, we will actively expand new parking facilities through internal potential tapping and efficiency enhancement and comprehensive regional governance. Finally, it is necessary to strengthen the sharing of parking resources, guide local governments to introduce policies and systems to promote the sharing of parking spaces between government agencies and institutions, and provide comprehensive solutions for residents' parking. We will strengthen the construction of urban parking facilities and ease the problem of people's "parking difficulties" by expanding the increment and revitalizing the stock.
At the same time, focusing on the parking needs of key areas such as hospitals, schools, business districts, transportation hubs and tourist attractions, we should make full use of urban "corner" plots, rationally use civil air defense projects, underground space of parks and green spaces, tap the potential to build additional parking facilities, and promote all regions to actively adopt resource sharing, price regulation, temporary parking and other measures to improve the efficiency of parking.
